Now I don’t feel so alone

Ori (17) is a Young Adult Carer and lives in Ashford. He has been caring for his mother who has lupus and arthritis since he was 12.

“I help my mum with dressing, bathing, carry her shopping and provide emotional support. Being a Carer can make me feel quite lonely, because other people my age have healthy parents and get to do things I can’t. I joined Carers’ Support East Kent’s support group for Young Adult Carers when I was 16 and it really changed my life. I also got to go on a trip with them to Thorpe Park that I will never forget. If you’re a Carer get in touch with them. They might just change your life and show you you’re not so alone.”
