Carers Services in Kent are changing from 1st August 2026

At the moment, Carers’ Support East Kent delivers some services on behalf of Kent County Council, including Carer assessments.

Kent County Council has recently carried out a procurement process for a new Kent Carers Service. This new service also includes Carer Breaks. From 1 August 2026, the new service will be delivered by a different organisation in East Kent, Involve Kent Ltd and in West Kent (including Faversham) will be delivered by IMAGO Community.

Carers’ Support East Kent will continue to support Carers in East Kent, but we will no longer deliver services on behalf of Kent County Council from 1 August 2026.

We would like to keep in touch and share information about support and services available from Carers’ Support East Kent. For example, our Time for Me wellbeing programme, Peer Support/Support Groups, Financial Wellbeing, Parent Carer Support and more. Carers will continue to be at the heart of everything we do. Our Carer Advisory Group enables carers from across East Kent to share their experiences, provide feedback and help shape our future plans and priorities. We remain committed to ensuring that carers’ voices are heard, raising awareness of the realities of caring, and working with others to improve understanding and support for unpaid carers. As a proud network partner of Carers Trust and affiliate member of Carers UK, we continue to benefit from being part of a wider network focused on improving outcomes for carers. Our Carers Advisory Group helps ensure that carers’ experiences directly inform the work we undertake.

As we enter this period of change, we want to take a moment to recognise the incredible relationships that have been built over more than 25 years of supporting carers in East Kent. It has been a privilege to work alongside carers, families, community groups and partner organisations, listening to carers’ experiences, advocating for their needs and helping to build stronger communities.

The strength of these relationships has shaped our charity and helped us make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of carers across East Kent. While some services are changing, our commitment to carers remains unchanged. We remain dedicated to supporting carers, championing their voices and ensuring that carers continue to be heard, valued and involved in shaping the support they need.

We understand that you may have questions about these changes. We appreciate that the timescales are short and that this information is reaching you at a relatively late stage. We have only recently been able to issue agreed communications and wanted to contact you as soon as possible.
