Our Community Partnerships

We have a small but dedicated fundraising team at Carers’ Support East Kent, this means we rely on building strong relationships with community partners.

This year for Carers Week we had huge support from the members of Chestfield and Dover Rotary Clubs and The Thanet Lions. Dover Rotary held a weeklong collection and awareness stand at Dover Morrisons raising almost £1,200 for East Kents Carers, which is an incredible testament to their community spirit and Dedication. We had a great day at Tesco Extra in Whitstable, spreading awareness to new Carers about the support that is available with the wonderful team from Chestfield Rotary Club. The Thanet Lions Club held a quiz night which we attended and raised a staggering £500.

We are a vibrant, dynamic Charity, our team are full of ideas and energy and most importantly we put Carers at the heart of everything we do. In East Kent, 1 in 9 people are Carers. This means they look after a relative or friend who due to physical or mental illness, age related difficulties, disability or an addiction cannot manage without their support. Caring will affect us all at some point in our lives, many people don’t see themselves as Carers. Being a Carer is rewarding but is often exhausting and it can be challenging at times too. Many Carers find they don’t have time to look after their own health and social needs.

With your support, we can champion Carers’ needs and ensure they get the right support when they need it most. Our support also gives Carers access to vital breaks from their caring responsibilities, enabling them to focus on their wellbeing and their physical health. We’ll help support your activities with ideas and materials and seek PR opportunities to promote your company’s involvement.
