Survey now closed – Survey for Carers of people with dementia
Researchers from the University of Kent are looking for study participants to help them to understand how well social care services support people living with dementia and their family and friends, who support them.
People with dementia are often excluded from research if they are not able to respond to standard questionnaires. Although they represent a large number of users of social care services, their voices are seldom-heard in national or local evaluations, surveys or social care research.
Where possible, it is better to ask people themselves how they feel about their own lives and their experience of social care support. Because this is not always possible, it is useful to get another perspective from someone who knows the person well. In this study, they are asking family and friend Carers who support someone with dementia, to fill in the survey questionnaire.
Who do they need to respond to the survey?
People living in England who are a family member or friend of someone living with dementia, who:
- Lives at home (not in a nursing or residential care home)
- Uses at least one type of social care service (e.g. home care, day activities)
- Would not be able to answer a postal or online questionnaire, even with help.
